MAX BENT: PODCASTING & Digital Audio Recording: Collaboratively Create Immersive Stories That Spark the Imagination

When he’s not busking on the streets of Baltimore, Max Bent is dreaming of new ways to tell stories. One fateful day while on stage, Max decided to tell a story. Something was stirring deep in his soul. He quickly whipped up a soundscape by looping vocal sounds and the rest is history. Well, actually the bit didn’t go very well at all. But this attempt lead him to create the Sound Tales Podcast, loved by students and teachers alike. Today, Max continues to weave together music, sound design and voice into compelling digital audio products for children of all ages.

JAYME HOST: Dance -  a Catalyst for Change for Enviro-literacy

This interactive and kinesthetic workshop session will explore how to harness the power of dance to teach climate-focused lessons and build motivation into action. We will explore how to reach students through elements of dance to raise general awareness of the relationship between the environment and human life and increase the capacity for personal and collective action and civic participation.

JOHN MOROGIELLO: STEAM Playwriting

STEAM Playwriting: Using the Engineering Design Process in Playwriting to solve real world problems. John will take you through the steps to playwriting while simultanously utilizing the Engineering Design Process to address an enviromental issue. Participants will be encouraged to work in a team to write an original script in their native language and perform their work at a community event.

“to address the climate crisis we need grassroots action around the globe. in what other profession can you reach multitudes, have time to focus on an issue, and explore creative solutions?
